Love Comes Softly

Some time back, my parents came across Love Comes Softly and recommended it to the rest of my family. From the title and unknown cast, I suspected a cheap, bad-acting, boring movie that had some emotional value that made it good in my parents sight. But I watched the movie tonight during a family get-together and it truly was special. Set in the days of wagon trains and settlers across America, Love Comes Softly is about three hurting people with great voids in their lives—Marty, who lost her husband; Clark, who lost his wife; and his daughter Missy, who lost her mother. After the funeral for Marty’s husband, A stranger (Clark) approaches in desperation for the heart of his daughter asking for Marty’s help through marriage. The two are wed and then begins the pain of overcoming barriers in the relationships. Through several circumstances and by God’s leading, all three are drawn closer together and begin to share love for each other. After Marty forces herself to leave, Clark uncovers a lost note from Marty that closed with, “Ask me to stay.

Yeah, I saw this a couple of

Yeah, I saw this a couple of months ago. Not bad at all. There's a sequel out, but I haven't seen it yet. I think it's called Love's Enduring Promise. It's about Missy's love life, from what I understand.

Love's Enduring Promise has

Love's Enduring Promise has come out and I am debating as to which of the set is my favorite. I have both, having received Loves Enduring Promise just last night as a gift. (Though I have seen it twice before.) I was wondering what you thought of Loves Enduring Promise and its spiritual aspects. I was afraid to watch it a first because sequels to movies almost never fail to be very disappointing, I was pleasantly surprised to change my opinion of at least one sequel. Though it is very different from the books. And yes, it is Missie's love.

I haven't seen the sequel

I haven't seen the sequel yet. But when I do, I will be sure to watch for spiritual aspects.
