What has been taking my time

My, how life progresses! I have some extra time, so I decided that I should at least post something in here for the benefit of my few fans. In the last month, I've been working on several large projects. I was contracted by a Christian book publisher to design their website and direct-sales ecommerce setup. That was an exciting project because it marks the first ecommerce job that D.Joseph Design has had. It turned over very well, and my client is satisfied. Seeing several needs among my clients, I decided that D.Joseph Design should branch into new digital fields to help my clients. So now, I'm pleased to offer several website hosting options based on both Windows and Linux servers. Also in the works has been DJosephDesign.com's total redesign. I started this about two months ago with the creation of a new logo, which will debut on my new site. This revamp will focus on the major aspects of D.Joseph Design's digital services: print design, presentation design, website design & hosting, custom PCs, and a new blog. The new blog will be separated into four sections: personal blog, articles, reviews (music, movie, book, and product reviews), and tutorials (software, life, and other matters). My site redesign is basically complete. I'm currently working on switch from MovableType to WordPress for my blog. MovableType has been great, but it is extremely slow, susceptible to spam, frustrating in interface, and new licensing prevents me from upgrading for free. WordPress, on the other hand, is completely free, better managed, easier to install and implement, more feature-rich, and has a much nicer admin interface. Speaking of blog spam, this blog is getting so much daily comment spam, that I've decided to temporarily disable comments until I get the redesign finished. I will also be spending the next couple weeks filling my site with content. When I relaunch, I want it to be a complete site with no missing pages or lacking information. Also in this whole process, I plan to move my site from its current Windows server to my new Linux servers (the same as I am reselling), where I will have more features than I had before (more space, more bandwidth, subdomains, multiple FTP logins, MySQL databases, better control panel, nicer stats, and easier-to-administrate Linux server). If you'd like to see the beta site or comment on any of my postings, please contact me directly.
